Paget Lions strike partnership with Athene Life Re
Athene Life Re has come on board as the lead sponsor for newly promoted Paget Lions.
The club announced that they have secured a two-year deal with the locally based reinsurance company which will assist them with various infrastructure requirements and upgrading of training facilities.
Kian Butterfield, the Paget president, is thrilled over the new partnership between the two parties.
“It’s great to have Athene on board for 2023-24,” he said in a press release. “They have shown keen interest in our club, and it is great that they have shown support towards our senior and youth programmes.
“We would like to thank the team at Athene for working with us, and we are delighted to start this new journey and look forward to keeping this partnership going in the future.”
Natasha Scotland Courcy, the Athene chief executive and general counsel, said the partnership is a testament to the company’s continued support of the community.
“We are thrilled to sponsor the Paget Lions,” she said. “As a company, we believe in supporting the community where we live and work, and this partnership is a testament to that commitment.
“We look forward to cheering on the Paget Lions and building a relationship with the club and its fans.”
Paget are looking to upgrade their field and facilities to enhance their youth programme with a focus on building their relationship with Paget Primary’s after-school programme.
The club are also plotting another successful season on their return to the Premier Division and continued growth within the community with the support of their new lead sponsor.
Paget won the First Division and Shield double last season under player-coach Antwan Russell.
Russell’s team edged Young Men’s Social Club 2-1 in the Shield final before prevailing against Wolves by the same scoreline to clinch the league title on the last day of the 2022-23 season.
