Kole Hall opened his goalscoring account for the season to help Chester eased to a convincing 3-0 win over King’s Lynn Town in the Vanarama National League North on Saturday.

The Bermudian grabbed the hosts’ second against the run of play in the 56th minute, after capitalising on a defensive mix up.

Chester took only seven minutes to break the deadlock through debutant Zak Goodson, who positioned himself well to turn in a loose ball in the area after team-mate Harrison Burke’s header from a corner was parried by on loan Town goalkeeper Ronnie Sandford.

Midfielder Iwan Murray put the match farther beyond the visitors reach five minutes from time after latching onto Declan Weeks’s pass and evading a tackle before calmly firing past Sandford to cap a brilliant man of the match display with a bang.

It was the first win of the new league season for Chester who are thirteenth in the 24-team standings.
