Bermuda name squad for Under-17 Concacaf Women’s Qualifiers

Concacaf Under-17 Qualifiers

Bermuda under-17 girls’ football team coach Gary Adams has named the 21 players who will represent the island at the Concacaf Women’s Qualifiers in the Dominican Republic this week.

The tournament’s official draw, conducted on July 6, divided the 26 participants into six groups, with Bermuda opening their group F campaign against Dominica on Monday before they round things off against Canada two days later.

After the round-robin group stage play, the six group winners will advance to the 2024 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Championship, joining the top two ranked nations, Mexico and the United States, who have seeded directly into the championship’s group stage.

Adams expects the hard work his players have been putting in during the summer to pay off.

“It’s an honour to lead these young ladies into the qualifiers,’’ Adams said.

“They have remained positive and shown their dedication and commitment through an intense summer training programme. We expect them to give an honest account of their hard work and remain competitive within our group.”
