Bermuda aiming to follow up big win in St Vincent

Bermuda women’s team will be aiming to take another step towards Gold Cup qualification when they face St Vincent & the Grenadines on Tuesday.

Naquita Robinson’s side will be looking to build on on an impressive 2-0 victory over Dominican Republic in their opening encounter on Friday, when Jaden Masters scored a sensational, long-range effort in the tenth minute before adding a second just before the break with another exquisite finish.

However, Robinson will have to cope without her two-goal hero as well as Nia Christopher for the trip to St Vincent because the pair have to return to their respective colleges in the United States.

After the first round of matches in group C League B, Bermuda sit second on goal difference in the four-team standings behind Barbados, who thrashed St Vincent 5-0.

After home and away group stage play in October, and November, the top finishers in each of the League A groups will qualify for next year’s Gold Cup group stage.

The runners-up in each of the League A groups (three teams) and the first-place finishers in each of the League B groups (three teams) will advance to the Gold Cup preliminary round.
