Cougars suffer blow as Chae Brangman ruled out for season
Devonshire Cougars have lost a key element of their attack with striker Chae Brangman ruled out for the season after rupturing his Achilles tendon.
Brangman suffered the injury during the club’s 4-0 victory over Dandy Town in the Dudley Eve Trophy quarter-finals last week, with the sound of the heel cord breaking audible to nearby spectators at PHC Stadium.
Brangman had been enjoying a productive season since transferring to Cougars from X-Roads, scoring a stunning hat-trick against Hamilton Parish in the club’s first league match, while also notching one in the game against Town before his injury.
A mournful Brangman, with his lower leg encased in a cast, cheered on his team-mates from the sidelines as they defeated PHC 2-1 on Sunday to maintean their unbeaten start in the Premier Division.
