First Division match forced to be halted as Robin Hood see red
Controversy brought the First Division match between Boulevard and Robin Hood to a grinding halt at Goose Gosling Field on Sunday.
While full details are yet to be disclosed, it is understood the referee abandoned proceedings near the 70th minute with Boulevard leading 4-2 and holding a significant numerical advantage.
Hood were reduced to eight players after Clay Darrell, Donovan Hill and Ricardo Brangman Jr all received their marching orders for allegedly protesting the referee’s decisions.
According to observers, tempers boiled in the Hood camp after having a penalty appeal denied, a goal disallowed and a spot-kick awarded against them. The Royal Gazette has reached out for clarity on the matter to the Bermuda Football Association, which has yet to respond.
Elsewhere, leaders Devonshire Colts cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over cellar dwellers Somerset Eagles at Police Field.
Vasco, who trail leaders Colts on goal difference, beat bottom side Ireland Island Rangers at Goose Gosling Field while third-place Wolves were 2-0 victors over St David’s Warriors at Bernard Park.
