BHS win Middle School Girls six-a-side tournament
Bermuda High School remained undefeated and did not concede a singlle goal as they won the Middle School Girls six-a-side tournament.
BHS defeated Warwick Academy 2-0 in the final after taking the lead late in the first half when Avery Taylor connected at the far post off a corner. Milan Gibbons-Thomas then put the game out of Warwick’s reach in the final minutes of the game after tucking a rebound past the goalkeeper.
Gibbons-Thomas had earlier put BHS into the final with the only goal in a 1-0 win over defending champions The Whitney Institute, while Warwick had to overcome a two-goal deficit over Saltus Grammar School to earn their spot in the final.
Leydi Raynor and Ajana Patton gave Saltus a 2-0 lead before Warwick came roaring back with three unanswered goals. Riley Khan finally found the back of the net after hitting the framework three times in the first half. Nila Samuels and Antoinette Barry rounded out the scoring for Warwick,
