Mount Saint Agnes Academy captured their first Bermuda School Sports Federation over-16 six-a-side football title with a thrilling penalty shootout victory over Berkeley Institute Green.

The final finshed 2-2 in normal time with Jaden Belboda putting Berkeley ahead with a fierce long-range effort and Khari Sharrieff making it 2-0 before the break after he dispossessed an MSA defender on the sideline before cutting in the box and slipping the ball past the goalkeeper.

MSA came out a more composed side in the second half and Sami Carolo proved the difference. He pulled a goal back after he collected the ball on the right edge of the box and kept his composure to rifle the ball in the far side of the goal and then levelled the score with a sublime header over the goalkeeper thanks to a pinpoint cross from Tiago Correia.

Both teams scored four of their five penalties, which led to sudden death and MSA goalkeeper Sa’Qui Robinson proved the hero saving Berkeley’s sixth spot-kick before calmly stepping up to score the winner and spark a frenzy of celebrations.

Earlier in the tournament MSA defeated Berkeley Gold in the semi-final when Correia scored the game’s only goal after getting on the end of a precise Carolo cross.

Berkeley Green defeated Somersfield Academy 3-1 in the other semi-final with goals from Tokia Bean, Machari Tear-DeLeon and Daion Swan Desilva. Enrique Mendes found the net for Somersfield
