Saltus wins primary school six-a-side competition
Saltus Grammar School were crowned Primary School A Division six-a-side champions at the Clyde Best Centre of Excellence after a 3-0 final win over Francis Patton.
Chance Franks opened the scoring for the Knights in the first minute of the final after powering his way through the defence and beating the goalkeeper and he doubled the lead early in the second half after a fine pass from Roman Gaglio, who would round out the scoring with a fine individual effort.
Saltus defeated Purvis Primary 2-0 in the semi-final with Franks scoring twice after assists by Gaglio.
Francis Patton reached the final after overcoming Prospect Primary 3-1 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 tie. Francis Patton took the lead in the first half when Thailon Pogson was the first to pounce on a loose ball in the box. Shiloh Stevens equalised in the second half after an individual run which started in his own half.
