Coach Michael Findlay hails Reggie Lambe’s 50th cap
National coach Michael Findlay hailed Reggie Lambe after he became the first Bermuda player to reach 50 international caps.
Already holding the distinction of being the island’s most capped player, the forward reached the milestone appearance after coming on as a second-half substitute in Bermuda’s 3-0 defeat away to French Guiana in the Concacaf Nations League.
While it may not have been the ideal result to mark the occasion, as Bermuda missed out on promotion to the top tier in the crucial decider, Findlay took the opportunity to heap praise on Lambe’s achievement.
“Making 50 appearances for your country is an incredible achievement in world football and we should all congratulate and celebrate Reggie’s journey,” the head coach said of the player, who made his international debut aged 16 against St Kitts and Nevis and played an integral role in Bermuda reaching the Gold Cup for the first time in 2019.
“It was honour to be provide Reggie with his 50th match appearance and I know I speak on behalf of all the staff and players in congratulating him on this milestone.
“We are excited to see him continuing to play a role in Bermudian football and we hope this motivates all our current players and future national team players to strive to reach this level of achievement"
