Warwick Academy win Primary School girls football tournament
Warwick Academy won the Primary School Girls seven-a-side football tournament on Monday without conceding a goal.
Warwick shut out a spirited St. George’s Preparatory 1-0 in the final as they applied constant pressure on the east enders goal but were held at bay by some staunch defending and brave goalkeeping.
Naomi MacGuinness finaly broke the deadlock midway through the second half when her long-range shot found the back of the net.
Warwick defeated Prospect Primary 2-0 in the semi final with MacGuinness again scoring along with Adrianna Dyer.
St. George’s were also 2-0 semi-final winners after defeating Somersfield Academy. Kierra Broadley-Samuels gave Prep the lead with a thunderous free-kick which soared into the top corner of the Somersfield goal before Marleigh Williams put the game out of reach late in the match when she connected with a Broadley-Samuels corner.
