Motorcade to be held in honour of LeiLanni Nesbeth
LeiLanni Nesbeth will be honoured for her athletic achievements by the club where her career got started.
St David’s County Cricket Club is holding a motorcade today for the multitalented athlete who has already made a significant impact on the football and cricket pitch.
Family, friends, team-mates and supporters have been invited to take part in the motorcade, which will depart from the club at 4pm.
Nesbeth, who ended her college career on a glorious note this month after helping the unbeaten Florida State University win their fourth national title, and a third in the past six seasons, will also be available to meet the public, take photographs and sign autographs.
“On Saturday, St David’s County Cricket Club is celebrating our warrior LeiLanni Nesbeth, member of Bermuda's senior women's national team and four-times NCAA Division 1 national champions Florida State University’s women’s soccer team and her final year as captain,” read a club press release.
“We are asking our St David’s family and fans and any BFA women’s team fans to join our motorcade from St David’s CCC starting at 4pm.
“After the motorcade, we will return to St David’s CCC for an opportunity to meet and take photos with LeiLanni and have her sign your favourite jersey or football.”
The 22-year-old midfielder, who has set her sights on playing professional football, won two national and four Atlantic Coast Conference titles during her time with Florida State.
The Seminoles clinched their fourth national title with an emphatic 5-1 win over Stanford in the NCAA Championship final this month.
