Devonshire Cougars 6 Robin Hood 3

Domico Coddington marked his return to the Devonshire Cougars starting line-up with a first-half hat-trick to send his side to the next round of the FA Cup with victory over Robin Hood at Devonshire Recreation Club last night.

Coddington, who missed his team’s last game through suspension, helped his side to a 5-2 lead at the break, before the 36-year-old was replaced.

The remaining goals for Cougars came from Demetre Daniels, Lejuan Simmons, and a penalty from substitute Elisha Darrell.

Hood to their credit not give up without a fight, with a brace from captain Clay Darrell being added to by player-coach Detroy Smith.

Coddington opened the scoring after just two minutes, finishing from Daniels inviting cross, before Simmons doubled the advantage in the seventh minute, drilling an effort past Ricardo Brangman.

Coddington grabbed his second with just 11 minutes on the clock, with Daniels adding a fourth ten minutes later.

Hood hit back immediately through Darrell, before Smith stabbed home from close range to further reduced the deficit in the 26th minute.

However, Coddington hit back at the other end to complete his hat-trick in the 36th minute and restore Cougars’ three-goal cushion.

Hood reignited hopes of a dramatic comeback with Darrell grabbing his second six minutes into restart.

However, those hopes were dashed as Elisha Darrell kept his cool from the penalty spot after fellow substitute Christian Albouy was brought down by Tristan Frias.
