Kenni Thompson continues fine start as Bournemouth win 14-0
Kenni Thompson scored her second goal in as many games to help Bournemouth to a 14-0 thrashing of Southampton in the Hampshire FA Women’s Senior Cup.
The Bermuda winger, who scored on her debut in the 3-0 victory over Swindon Town in the National League Division One South West last weekend, struck shortly before the break in what proved a comfortable afternoon for her side.
Erin Bloomfield was at her clinical best, netting six times, with Gemma McGuinness adding a further four goals and Chloe Gilroy also completing a hat-trick.
Thompson’s compatriot Aaliyah Nolan was also among the goals as Bradford City eased to a 4-1 win over visiting Hull United in the North East Regional Women’s Football League.
With her side already two goals to the good through Maria McKenna and Hannah Markey, the Bermuda forward added a third six minutes before the interval, racing through before rifling a shot into the roof of the net.
Elsewhere, Nahki Wells came on as a second-half substitute as Bristol City settled for a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw at home to Watford in the Sky Bet Championship.
It was Watford who broke the deadlock through Tom Dele-Bashiru's thirteenth-minute penalty before Scott Twine marked his City debut in the ideal fashion when heading home an equaliser in the 25th minute.
Kole Hall and his Chester team-mates made it back-to-back wins in the Vanarama National League North with a 2-0 home success over Bishop’s Stortford courtesy of goals from George Glendon and Christian Norton.
Bermuda forward Djair Parfitt-Williams has left Finnish side Ilves to move to Greece after signing for Makedonikos.
“The administration of PAE Makedonikos is pleased to announce the start of its co-operation with the football player Djair Parfitt-Williams,” his new club said in a statement.
“Coming to Makedonikos, Parfit adds speed, quality, explosion and intensity to Stelios Malezas’s squad, both attack and defence
Parfitt-Williams added, “I feel good and happy to be here. It’s nice to be in a country that loves football so much.
“I’m really excited to start playing. I met all my team-mates today and the coach, it felt good, so I’m very happy.”
