Bermuda learn opponents in Concacaf World Cup qualifiers
The Bermuda men’s senior team have discovered their opponents for the second stage of Concacaf qualification for the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
The official draw, which placed a total of 30 teams into six groups of five, took place at Fifa head quarters in Zurich, Switzerland, with Bermuda picked in group A alongside Honduras, Antigua and Barbuda, Cuba and Cayman Islands.
Each team will face every other in their group once, playing a total of four matches (two at home and two away) between the international windows of June 2024 and June 2025.
The winners and runners-up from each of the six groups will progress through to the next stage, which will be played between September and November 2025 and feature the 12 qualifying teams divided into three groups of four and playing each other home and away
The three group winners will then qualify directly for the World Cup, joining hosts Canada, Mexico, and the USA. Additionally, the best two runners-up will represent Concacaf in the Fifa Play-off Tournament, with a further two qualification spots available.
In total, the Concacaf region could have up to eight teams at the World Cup for the first time.
