Bermuda players among the goals overseas
A host of Bermuda players were among the goals for their respective clubs overseas this weekend.
Among them was Keziah Martin, who grabbed his third goal of the campaign to help Boston United claim all three points in a comfortable 3-0 victory at home to Southport in the Vanarama National League North.
With Boston leading 2-0 courtesy of goals from Jai Rowe and Jacob Hazel, the Bermuda midfielder capped a fine team performance when wrapping up the scoring in additional time to help his side to a second successive victory.
In the same division, Kane Crichlow also got on the scoresheet, but he could not prevent Bishop’s Stortford slipping to a 3-1 defeat away to Farsley Celtic. With his side already three goals down, Crichlow grabbed a consolation goal in additional time.
Harry Twite put in a man-of-the-match performance to help Wisbech Town to all three points in a 2-1 win over Newark and Sherwood in the United Counties League Premier Division North.
After Joe Mummery opened the scoring for Town in the 27th minute, the Bermuda defender doubled the advantage just four minutes later, firing home through a crowded penalty area. Newark reduced the deficit with a first-half penalty.
Kenni Thompson continued her fine start to life at Bournemouth by helping her side claim a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Exeter City in the Women’s National League.
The midfielder opened the scoring for Bournemouth just before half-time, getting on the end of Molly Barron-Clark’s cross to find the net. However, Bournemouth were denied victory as Exeter hit back just two minutes after the restart through Jenna Markham to earn a point.
There was also a standout performance from Milan Butterfield, who was named man of the match for Stourbridge in the club’s 1-1 draw at home against Stamford in the Southern League Premier Division Central.
Stamford looked on course to take home all three points only for Kian Ryley to strike late and earn Stourbridge a share of the spoils.
Aaliyah Nolan played her part as Bradford City battled to a 2-2 draw away to Wallsend in the North East Regional Women’s Football League, but there was disappointment for Dale Eve’s Malsall Wood, who slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Loughborough Dynamo in Northern Premier League Division One.
