Pacers Track Club in medal glory

The Bermuda Pacers Track Club celebrated their 30th anniversary by picking up a record-breaking 26 medals at the Russell E Blunt East Invitational at the weekend.Included in that impressive tally were ten gold medals, with the team also winning six silver and ten bronze.Winning gold medals were Juma Mouchette in the 1,500m and 3,000m, Diarra Powell-Burgess in the eight and under boy’s 100m and the long jump, Elisha Darrell in the 11-12 long jump and high jump, Zekiah Lewis in the 9-10 girl’s long jump, Kyrah Scraders in the 13-14 girl’s 1500m, Justin Donawa in the 15-16 boy’s triple jump and Zakiyyah Showers in the 13-14 girl’s 3,000m.Silver medals were won by Kyle Webb in the 15-16 boy’s 100 and 200m, Donawa in the 15-16 boys long jump, Sean Tucker and Deminqua Daniels in the 11-12 boy’s and girl’s mini javelin. Pacers also won silver in the 15-16 boys 4x100m relay.Claiming bronze medals were Tyrone Oswald in the 17-18 boy’s long jump, Sajan Harvey in the 9-10 boy’s 400m, Powell-Burgess in the eight and under 200m, Syriah Lottimore in the 11-12 girls long jump, Zakiyyah Showers in the 13-14 girl’s 1500m, Scraders in the 13-14 girl’s 800m, Eze Hart in the eight and under boy’s 1500m, Lewis in the 9-10 girls 100m. The club also scooped bronzes in both the 11-12 and 13-14 girls 4x400m girl’s relay races.Pacers placed second overall with 269 points behind the host team Durham Striders.
