Junior squash championships to start next week
More than 50 children will vie for top honours at the 2012 DIGICEL Bermuda National Junior Squash Championships next week.Young up and coming players between the ages of seven and 18 years old will compete in their respective age groups at the Bermuda Squash Racquets Association (BSRA) on December 27th and 28th.Top seeds D’Vario Thompson and Alex Marshall are tipped to take the Under 19 trophies.Tiye Williams, Bermuda’s highest finisher in last week’s Canadian Junior Open is seeded number on in both the Girls Under 15 and 17 events and is looking to take her first ever national title double.Aiming for a similar feat in the boys under 13 and 15 is Dylan Pratt, who will face tough opposition from Dylan Muldoon and Anaya Smith.BSRA Director of Squash Patrick Foster said: “After great performances from the children internationally last week at the Canadian Junior Open they are all ready to jump back onto the courts and compete for the Digicel National Titles. It should be an exciting couple of days at the BSRA”All the main finals will be between 12-3pm on the 28th.
