Franklin eases into title defence

Micah Franklin made a comfortable start to the defence of his Bermuda National Championships title.
Franklin eased to victory over Ben Bramlett yesterday, winning 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 in their first-round match.
Patrick Foster, who Franklin beat in last year’s final, also opened with a win, defeating David Dodwell 11-6, 11-6, 11-6.
Courthouse professional Kristen Johnson, meanwhile, will also fancy his chances in the Men’s Open, and he beat Tony Muldoon with a minimum of fuss 11-7, 11-5, 11-6.
