Phillips in fine form in Aruba

Bermuda tennis player Daniel Phillips is playing several tournaments in the Caribbean this summer
Daniel Phillips, Bermuda’s most promising tennis player, has advanced to the second round of the TIHTA Aruba tournament on the COTECC Under-14 circuit.
Phillips beat Miguel Chavez, from Venezuela, 6-0, 6-0 yesterday and will now take on Sebastian Ruiz, Aruba’s No 1 seed, today.
The 13-year-old won his first-round qualifier 6-1, 6-2 against Ng Neng Jie, of Aruba, before reaching the main draw after defeating Munoz Enmanuel, of the Dominican Republic, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Phillips is embarking on a Caribbean tour this summer, with stops in Bahamas for the Nassau Junkanoo Bowl from July 2 to 8 and the Jamaica Junior Tournament in Kingston from July 9 to 15. He then plays in the Dominican Republic Copa Merangue in Santo Domingo from July 16 to 22.
