Flora Duffy continued her impressive return to action with victory at the 2020 Karlovy Vary ITU Triathlon World Cup event in the Czech Republic today.
Building on the momentum of a silver medal at the Hamburg Wasser World Triathlon last week, after ten months out because of Covid-19, Duffy stormed to victory, fishing more than a minute of nearest rival Georgia Taylor-Brown, of Britain, in a reversal of the top two last time out.
The two-times world champion, led from start to finish over the challenging course including the Bohemia region’s cobbled hills, to cross the line in a time of 2hr 5min 17 sec, with Taylor-Brown finishing in 2:06.54, narrowly ahead of Holland’s Maya Kingma in third in 2:07.07 to complete the podium.
