Runners gear up for Butterfield & Vallis 5K

Hundreds of runners are expected to pound the streets around North Shore this weekend for the Butterfield & Vallis 5K

Plenty of youngsters who got the chance to showcase their running prowess at the Front Street Mile last week will again be in action on Sunday morning with races held for primary, middle and senior school students, and a prize of $500 will be awarded to the schools/junior groups with the most entries.

There will also be a corporate prize for the company producing the most competitors.

The first 800 participants at number pick-up will receive a fabulous dri-fit shirt and goodie bag sponsored by New York Presbyterian Hospital filled with products from Axe, Carolina Rice, Coca-Cola, Folgers, Jif, Kraft Mac & Cheese, Kraft Mayo, Pepperidge Farm, Planters Nuts, Powerade, Nature Valley and Beep Hand Sanitizer.

Finishers will receive a medal and all age-group prize winners will receive a Sportseller gift certificate and a Coca-Cola glass. Runners will also be entered in a draw prizes include two pedal cycles from Winners Edge and Sportseller vouchers
