Pre-race favourite Sean Trott wins PHC Mile Run race
Sean Trott lived up to pre-race expectations after sealing victory in the PHC Mile Run and Walk event.
Competing in the adult category, the 33-year-old crossed the line in a winning time of 6 min 3 sec, to finish slightly more than a minute ahead of Anthony Furbert (7:06), with T'Syi Showers a further four seconds adrift, completing the podium places.
The event also staged a number of age category races, with Khari Sharrieff, coming out on top in the Senior School division, crossing the line in 6:39, comfortably clear of Carina Bortoli who finished in 7:58, followed by Jahir Smith (8:26).
There was also delight for Gianluca Bortoli, who won the Middle School race in a time of 6:49, ahead of Timothy Pearman (7:32) and Chavi Pacheco Hil (7:48).
In an exciting Primary School division race, Jaylon Glasford (8:01) prevailed, pipping Nicolas Gomez Caines to victory by just two seconds, with Tayz Showers rounding out the top three places in a time of 8:22.
In the Competitive Walk race, Gilda Cann came out on top in a winning time of 15:11, ahead of Zharia Bean (16:10) and Melvina Burgess (19:34), while Ibou Barry (9:17) won the Non-Competitive Run/Walk, ahead of Raychel Weeks (10:00) and Kadeem Abraham (10:22).
