Youngsters take on Masters

Swimming’s sprint season gets underway at the BASA pool today with a challenge match between the Island’s best young swimmers and some of their more experienced counterparts where there will be more than bragging rights at stake.Three Masters teams featuring the likes of Ric Chapman and Nick Strong will compete against Bermuda internationals such as Emma Franklin in a 4x50metre freestyle race where the winning team will take home $400.The race will form part of the Shark Club’s traditional season opener in which hundreds of youngsters are expected to compete in all events from freestyle to butterfly.Today’s challenge race is expected to start at 8.30 am.
