Allied World has agreed a three-year deal to sponsor the Aquatics Centre at the National Sports Centre.

Allied World and the National Sports Centre hosted a dedication event to kick off the three-year sponsorship of the Aquatics Centre, which will further support the NSC in promoting and providing quality and affordable access to aquatics activities in Bermuda.

The ribbon-cutting event was attended by Patricia Gordon-Pamplin, the Minister of Community, Culture and Sport, members of the NSC Board of Trustees, Allied World employees and athletes who use the facilities to train, including top young swimmers Jesse Washington, Maddy Moore and Emma Harvey, two of whom competed in last year’s Youth Olympics in China.

Mike McCrimmon, president, North American Property at Allied World, said supporting the NSC was an easy decision to make.

“By supporting the Aquatics Centre and the NSC, Allied World is hoping to encourage community wellness, physical activity and athletic development,” McCrimmon said.

“We’re proud to partner with an organisation that serves a crucial need in the community while also providing a venue for family fun and the development of life-saving skills to our youth.”

The sponsorship agreement provides financial support to the NSC, allowing it to continue to invest in high quality aquatics services while also maintaining the facilities at a world class standard.

Sean Tucker, chairman of the National Sports Centre, said that business and corporate support for NSC community initiatives is vital to the ongoing success of the facility.

“We are indeed fortunate to have an opportunity to work with such a well-respected entity in Bermuda,” Tucker said.

“We are extremely grateful to Allied World for their commitment, and are excited and motivated to develop this meaningful relationship.”
