Moore broke the national record for the 50 metres freestyle
The first session of the Schroders Spring Championships went very well. There were lots of personal best swims in the first session of distance events.
The highlight was Maddy Moore setting a record in the 50 metres freestyle. Her time of 26.07sec gives her a 15-16 age group record, a national record and a BASA Pool record.
The national record had been held by Keira Aitken since 2009.
Ethan Daley finished the night off in the last event, the 1,500 metres freestyle where he broke the former record of 17min 42sec, set by Jason Mastalir in 2005, with a time of 17:13.21.
