Madelyn Moore and Emma Harvey qualify for Commonwealth Games semi-finals
Bermuda swimmers Madelyn Moore and Emma Harvey both sealed qualification through to the semi-finals of the Commonwealth Games, taking place later today.
Bother were action earlier at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre, with Moore booking her place in the semi-finals of the 50 metres freestyle after finishing third in heat seven, in a time of 25.85sec.
Meanwhile, Harvey sealed qualification in the 100 backstroke, finishing fourth in heat two in a time of 1min 4.17sec. Moore also competed in the same heat but fractionally missed out on progressing despite also swimming a personal best of 1:04.84, for sixth.
“It’s definitely a big deal for us to both be in semi-finals, especially with it being out first Commonwealth Games, it’s really exciting,” Moore said.
Moore is scheduled to be in action in heat two of the 50 back at 3.18pm Bermuda time with Harvey in the second heat of the 100 backstroke at 4.22pm.
