Seth Samuels and Adriana Argent among winners at BASA event
Some of Bermuda’s most talented young swimmers were involved in three days of competitive action at the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association’s Winter Age Group meeting last weekend.
With 31 events including preliminary rounds, there was some epic battles between the Harbour and Sharks swim clubs for top honours and plenty of Fina (International Federation of Swimming) points to gather.
The awards for top swimmer in the 15 & Over age group for boys and girls were both members of Sharks, with Seth Samuels picking up 2,365 points and Adriana Argent racking up 3,732 points with some strong performances.
Connor Hupman got Harbour on the board collecting a total of 2,897 points across seven events in the boys 13-14 divison with Marleigh Howes amassing the highest number of Fina points at the meeting with 3,919 across her seven races in the same age group.
Harbour swimmers dominated the 11-12 age group with Joey Cechini picking up 1,527 points and Tallulah Parkinson producing a whole host of good swims to win 2,611 points.
Nine-year-old Sylvia Lim came out on top for girls aged ten and under.
Although out of luck in the overall awards, the highest individual Fina Point swims went to Bella Howes and Brandon Adkins.
