Digicel Group Q4 revenue soars 32%

Bermuda-domiciled wireless services provider Digicel Group said its subscriber numbers increased to 11.5 million last year.That represents a seven percent increase for the group, which operates in 32 markets in the Caribbean, Central America and the Pacific, as well as Bermuda.In terms of Digicel Group Ltd. which comprises the 30 markets of the Caribbean, El Salvador and the Pacific the company said revenue in the fourth quarter of 2010 soared 32 percent to $580 million.Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) was up 32 percent year on year and reached a record high of more than $240 million.Digicel, a privately held company founded by Irish businessman Denis O’Brien, its chairman, said it had seen growth in all of its major markets including El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Papua New Guinea and Trinidad and Tobago and data revenues have doubled year on year.Digicel Group CEO Colm Delves said: “I am pleased to report that we have had another very strong quarter.
