Nominations open for Tech Awards
The nomination period has opened for the annual Technology Innovation Awards, celebrating those making a mark in the technology industry.
The Tech Awards invites nominations of Bermudian companies, organisations and individuals developing the most innovative technology solutions, practices and education processes.
This year's awards are in the categories of 'International Market Innovation', 'Local Market Innovation', 'Most Innovative Youth Project' and 'Most Innovative Mobile Application.'
Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, said: "Despite the size of our island, Bermudians have repeatedly shown that we have a wealth of talent, creativity and innovation.
“The TechAwards provide an opportunity to recognise and showcase Bermuda's ingenuity and can serve as a means to encourage and inspire future innovators.
“If you are aware of an innovative product or service in Bermuda that is underpinned by technology, I strongly encourage you to submit a nomination for a TechAward so that the larger community can recognise it."
Ray Jones, Director of the Economic Development Department, stated: "Our team is excited to launch the 2022 TechAwards. As the island looks to the future, we anticipate recognising notable developments in the fintech and technology industries.
“I look forward to seeing what Bermudians, individuals and organisations, have been developing and to publicly celebrating them."
Nominees will be evaluated by the TechAwards committee composed of leaders in the fintech and technology industries. Top candidates in each category will be recognised at a reception to be held in October.
Nominations may be submitted online until September 30. The award criteria can be found on the website.
