Jaden Jones and Nadhira Durham star at Highland Spring tennis tournament
Jaden Jones and Nadhira Durham were among the winners at the Highland Spring Junior Open Tennis Tournament on Friday.
Durham, won the 18 and under girls singles title at the Pomander Gate Tennis and Pickleball Club by beating Asia-Leigh Hollis in the final, but she had no real time to celebrate as she headed to LF Wade International Airport the next morning to represent Bermuda in the Billie Jean King Cup in Panama
Jones is aged just 13 but is making a huge name for himself among the older age groups. The teenager beat Kyan Hands to take the older boys 16 and under singles title after earlier winning the 18 and under doubles final with his partner Tobiah Goodchild.
That winning doubles partnership turned into an intense rivalry as the two players faced off in the 14 and under singles division and the match turned into a thrilling encounter with Goodchild prevailing in a hard-fought match
Hasan Khan comfortably took the boys 12 and Under Singles title over Michael Mohipp, while Theodore Tolaram beat Sebastian Gerber to win the 10 and under title.
Chloe McBrearty took the girls 10 and Under crown when beating Arianna Parra and also doubled up in the 12 and Under age group when coming out on top in a sensational three-set match against Isabella Neururer.
Neureurer had earlier teamed up with Lee Terceira to win the girls 12 and under doubles over Arianna Parra and Ella Metschnabel.
