Top-of-the-table clash in Winter League rescheduled

A potentially exciting top-of-the-table clash between Pomander Gate A and defending champions Temple of Tennis in the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association Winter League men’s section has been rescheduled.

The two top teams were due to face off at TOT this afternoon, but the fixture has been pushed to a later date. In the last round of fixtures, Pomander Gate A defeated their B Pirates side 8-1, while TOT were on a bye.

Hugh Seymour, the TOT captain, spoke of the factors which led to the postponement of the matches.

“Due to players not being able to be fielded for that match, we’ll just postpone it to a later time in the month,’’ Seymour said.

“We’re actually doing renovations at the courts up at Temple of Tennis, so we’re not able to technically host.”

Only one men’s fixture is going ahead today, when B Pirates take on All Bermuda Tennis Club.

In the women’s matches, TOT are at home against Pomander Gate, while Lambert Island Tennis face Double at WER Joell Tennis Stadium.
