Bermuda was recently highlighted on a BBC Travel website, listing it as one of several ideal places to own a Caribbean home. The article acknowledges the high cost of living here and also remarks on the advantages of Bermuda’s isolation. “The cab drivers have never heard of Starbucks, the local fish is called wahoo and the native bananas growing in front gardens are smaller and sweeter than the monocultural type found in supermarkets.”The article also says that because of the high cost of property, fractional ownership on the Island is especially attractive.Other destinations included in the article include Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Belize.Useful website: www.bbc.com/travel/feature/20110222-living-in-caribbean-beach-areas/2
