UK radio listeners to hear about Bermuda’s charm
The delights of Bermuda are to be broadcast to 4.5 million UK radio listeners, as eight of the country’s stations go live from the Island next week.Between May 23 and 27, local ambassadors will tell the UK audience about holidaying in Bermuda, as well as giving deals at hotels around the Island, and news of events such as the upcoming PGA Grand Slam of Golf.Tourism Minister Patrice Minors said: “The UK is a very important market for Bermuda, and this is an excellent opportunity to raise our profile via these very popular radio stations.“Loyal listeners will get the chance to hear their favourite stations touting the Island and relaying the warm Bermuda welcome that typifies our visitor experience.”Radio listeners will also be directed to the Tourism Department’s website, where holidays can be booked.Stations have been promoting their visits to Bermuda with listener prize trip contests, with the Smooth FM network reported an unprecedented 10,000-plus entries.
