Tourism pulls picture branded a ‘Photoshop disaster’ ... but is it?
A romantic picture advertising the Island’s delights had to be pulled by the Bermuda Department of Tourism after being branded a “Photoshop disaster” online. The unintended attention centred on a seemingly stump-armed bride kissing a groom.According to a spokesman, BDOT’s advertiser, Fuseideas, will see to it that pictures featuring “distorted images” don’t happen again. The picture of the couple, originally snapped by local photographer Bruce Leseur and supplied in March, 2010, generated discussion — but not the kind hoped to draw visitors for a romantic getaway. Some cried foul on the Psdisasters website, while others posted that they couldn’t figure out what was going on between the embracing couple.BDOT thanked the public for bringing the photo to their attention, and the image was promptly switched with a different bride and groom. The spokesman declined to say whether or not Mr Leseur’s photograph had been altered with Photoshop.
