Bermuda hotel’s private beach gets a top ranking
Bermuda has one of the top three best hotel private beaches in the world, according to price comparison website HotelsCombined.com
In a search of 400,000 tourist properties on its website to find the best of hotel private beaches, it ranked The Reefs, on South Shore, the third best.
While searching for the ultimate beach getaway, Linda Huynh wrote: “There’s something to be said about the importance of privacy. We guarantee there won’t be any fighting for space at these secluded spots.”
Of the Reefs Resort and Club, Ms Huynh said: “Unlike golden or white beaches many of us are used to, the private beach located at The Reefs Resort and Club has a unique pink-sand beach.
“The salmon-coloured resort, which sits atop limestone cliffs and provides vast views of Bermuda’s south shore and the Atlantic Ocean, was the first cabana-style beach resort in Bermuda and also boasts the country’s first freshwater infinity pool.
“Guests can choose from a range of accommodation options here including suites, cottages and luxury Club Condos.”
The two hotels ranked higher were second-placed Mandarin Oriental Sanya in China, and the winner, Lizard Island Resort in Australia.
Other beaches listed included one of the largest resort villas in world — the One and Only Reethi Rah and the Viceroy, in Anguilla, which opened in 2009.
