Meet Island’s senior hospitality industry leaders

Students interested in pursuing careers in the hospitality industry will soon have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with Bermuda’s top industry professionals.

The Bermuda Hospital Institute (BHI) will host a series of round table discussions at their Annual Student and Parent Networking Event, to be held on December 30 at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

Participating industry partners include representatives in human resources, hotels and restaurants and other businesses that cater to Bermuda’s visitors.

“We purposely create an intimate setting that allows for small group discussions,” said Karla Lacey, BHI CEO. “The atmosphere naturally promotes the importance of commitment, dedication and the right attitude that is at the heart of every hospitality business.”

Professionals participating include Cheryl Hayward Chew, CEO, Meyer Group of Companies, Ashley Harris, Owner of Hidden Gems of Bermuda Ltd, Jenna Viera, Assistant Manager, Human Resources, Elbow Beach Hotel, Bradley Clease, Executive Chef, Harry’s Restaurant.

Also attending were Greg Maybury, Director of Golf Operations, Port Royal Golf Course, Paul Telford, Hotel Manager, Rosewood Tucker’s Point and Roydell Neverson, Director of Rooms, Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

The event, which starts at 5.30pm and runs through to 8pm is open to graduating high school students, college students and their parents by “invitation only”.

Invitations may be secured by e-mail at info@bhi.bm, or by calling 295-5049.

There will also be a number of door prize drawings for iPad Minis.

Sponsors include Audio Visual Electronics Ltd, Butterfield & Vallis and Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

BHI is a non-profit organisation with a mandate to lead and encourage the development, growth and sustainability of Bermudians in the Hospitality industry.
