Horseshoe Bay may be one of the most Instagrammed beaches in the world, but GQ has pointed readers to some of Bermuda’s less widely know beaches.

In an online article, the magazine highlighted four “hidden, almost-private” beaches around the island.

Whale Bay, Warwick Long Bay and Coopers Island are all picked out, with Church Bay listed by writer Alexander-Julian Gibbson as his personal favourite.

Mr Gibbson wrote: “Stripped of all human factors, a day at the beach is a beautiful gift from nature, even for us sceptics.

“And even better than a beautiful beach is a beautiful beach with nobody else on it. It’s not easy to find everywhere, but I recently learnt that one of the world’s great destinations for secret, hidden, gym-guy-free beaches is Bermuda.

“Its solo beach opportunities are so excellent that you should actually be booking your flight right now.”

He said of Church Bay: “Once you make your way down the beautiful wooden stairs at the tip of this beach you’ll find yourself surrounded by coral cliffs that form a quaint little cove that’ll have you feeling like you’re on your own private beach.

“You’re likely to even come across some colourful tropical fish like angel, butterfly and parrot fish — just watch out for the jellyfish.”
