US pharmacy offers Bermuda trips as vaccine incentive
A US pharmacy chain will today offer free trips to Bermuda to boost Covid-19 vaccination surveys.
CVS Health has added five trips for two to the island as part of a promotion across its thousands of pharmacies in America.
Kyu Rhee, the senior vice-president and a chief medical officer with the company, said: “Getting as much of the population fully vaccinated will bring us one step closer to all the things we’ve missed during the past 14 months and keep our country moving in the right direction.”
Other prizes include five gifts of $5,000 for family reunions, 50 prizes of $500, 100 seven-day cruises on Norwegian Cruise Line and a trip for two to the Super Bowl.
CVS said it had administered 17 million doses of the vaccine at its stores, but surveys had shown 17.6 of adults in the US were reluctant to get the jabs.
A spokesman added: “CVS Health is working to close gaps in hesitancy and, through the #OneStepCloser sweepstakes, provide a positive reminder of the activities that are possible once vaccinated.”
Anyone vaccinated, or registered for one, at a CVS pharmacy or through CVS Health at a long-term care home, a Return Ready workplace clinic or other off-site clinic from today until July 10 is eligible for the draw.
