Tourism entrepreneurs were today asked to help highlight the island over the off season through an experience investment programme.

The Bermuda Tourism Authority has also offered a webinar this week that will steer prospective participants through the application process for a chance at funding and marketing support.

Tashae Thompson, the BTA’s assistant director of experience development, said the tourism industry’s recovery depended on fresh ideas.

The free webinar will be held on Thursday at 11am and the application portal for the Experience Investment Programme will be available from Friday, with a deadline of September 30.

The EIP was designed to create opportunities for tourism businesspeople to be considered for funding and marketing support for activities from November to next April.

The winner will be announced in the first week of November.

Top criteria include live entertainment, fresh takes on Bermuda’s history and culture, and ideas that repurpose on-island venues for unexpected, authentic experiences.

The recorded webinar will be available on the BTA website from Friday.
