The Department of Parks has extended the deadline for applications to provide beach and park concessions for the summer.

The deadline for requests for proposals has been put back a week to Monday. Concessions will operate from May 1 to November 30.

The department is seeking entrepreneurs to run 12 spots across the island. They are: Mangrove Bay; Somerset Long Bay; Daniel’s Head; Church Bay; Horseshoe Bay Beach (excluding the facility); Chaplin Bay; Admiralty House; Ducking Stool; Penhurst Park; Shelly Bay; Kindley Field Park; St David’s Battery.

Proposals may be submitted for one or more of the above-listed locations, with the understanding that only one location will be awarded per concessionaire.

A government spokesman said: “This further week extension will allow concessionaires more time to provide proposals for their services.

“These activities provide enhanced enjoyment of our beaches and parks during the summer, and we look forward to receiving a variety of proposals in good time for the summer season.”

Anyone interested in concession services can send their proposal to jlcarvalho@gov.bm

Submissions need to include what is being offered, how large their operation would be, which location they are interested in, dates and hours of operation, business name, and any other relevant information they would like to provide.
