Festival to feature top swizzle masters and food inspired by island’s famous drink
Tourists and locals will get to taste and experience authentic Bermudian cuisine, culture and hospitality at the island’s first Swizzle Festival.
The event, which is part of the Government and Bermuda Tourism Authority’s Great Sound series, will feature some of Bermuda’s top swizzle masters and foods inspired by one of the island’s most famous drinks.
A BTA statement said: “Beyond the swizzle-themed treats, cocktail tasting and food offerings, the event will include a line-up of high-energy sets by local performers such as the Silver City and Working Title bands and DJ Mystro delivering Top 40 hits and soca sounds throughout the day.”
Some of the swizzle brands to be featured are the Kings Swizzle, Gombey Juice, 1616 cocktails, Simons rum swizzle and Mixyz BDA.
The festival will be held at Barr’s Bay Park on October 9, from 1pm to 6pm. Free advance tickets are currently available at www.ticketisle.bm. People without tickets can pay $10 at the gate.
“To ensure visitors have access to the experience, Bermuda’s tourism guests need only show proof of international residence to get free access to the festival,” the statement added.
