American stops Miami flights for January
Flights between Bermuda and Miami are set to halt next month, according to the January flight schedule.
While American Airlines will largely maintain daily service to New York JFK and Charlotte, the daily service to Miami will conclude with the last arrival from Miami on January 8 and the last departure the following day.
According to the American Airlines website, direct flights are due to resume on February 3 from Miami. American stopped daily service between Bermuda and Miami between September and November this year.
Meanwhile Delta Air Lines will slightly reduce service to New York-JFK and Atlanta, ending Tuesday flights to both destinations at the conclusion of the holiday period.
The Tuesday flights began on December 20 and the last scheduled flights will be on January 3.
Three flights between Bermuda and the Azores are also included on the schedule, with SATA Airlines offering flights to Ponta Delgada on January 10, 17 and 24.
Service to both London Heathrow and Toronto will remain steady with British Airways maintaining five weekly flights to the UK and both Air Canada and WestJet offering two flights a week to Canada.
While the changes result in an overall decrease in the number of flights to and from the island, service is expected to pick up again this spring.
The Bermuda Tourism Authority has said that JetBlue had announced the addition of non-stop, once-daily seasonal flights from LaGuardia Airport to the island.
Additionally, United Airlines’ service from Newark to Bermuda will start in March 2023, six weeks earlier than anticipated and British Airways will resume daily service to London Heathrow in April.
