Bermuda wins votes of Condé Nast readers
Bermuda has been ranked the top Atlantic island to visit by readers of a renowned travel magazine.
Voters of the Condé Nast Traveller 2023 Readers’ Choice Awards voted Bermuda as the number one place to visit in the magazine’s Caribbean and Atlantic category.
The same awards ranked the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club third out of 15 of the best hotels and resorts within the Atlantic Islands.
Rosewood Hotel and Cambridge Beaches also ranked sixth and 11th in the same category.
Tracy Berkeley, the chief executive officer of the Bermuda Tourism Authority, was “thrilled” to receive the award on behalf of Bermuda.
She said it was “a testament to our destination’s offerings to visitors”.
Ms Berkeley added: “Additionally, I would like to extend a special thank you to our dedicated hoteliers and warm-hearted locals alike.
"With this recognition, we are confident that Bermuda will continue to inspire travellers seeking an enchanting getaway."
A BTA spokeswoman said that Bermuda’s top ranking was not a matter of coincidence, but instead the “direct result” of the BTA’s commitment to the Government’s National Tourism Plan.
The six-year plan aims to strengthen and stabilise the country’s tourism industry.
The spokeswoman said: “Earning this prestigious recognition from discerning travellers demonstrates the profound impact of the National Tourism Plan in catalysing positive change and propelling its tourism sector to unprecedented heights.”
Jamari Douglas, the BTA’s vice-president of marketing, PR and communications, said: “This timely recognition coincides with our website's new seasonal hubs showcasing year-round activities and the recent debut of our culturally relevant ‘Find the Time You Lost’ advertising campaign.
“The campaign brilliantly highlights Bermuda as an idyllic destination, inviting travellers to create celebratory moments anytime, with anyone, right here in Bermuda.”
