Tourism talks aim to boost options for visitors
Talks that focus on airlift challenges and creating memorable experiences for visitors will be part of a tourism summit scheduled for this month.
The Bermuda Tourism Authority announced that the event will be held on November 28 at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.
It added: “With the theme ‘Unifying Our Efforts: Building a Better Bermuda Tourism Ecosystem’, this summit brings together Bermuda’s tourism stakeholders, business owners and the local community to foster collaboration and strategic planning for enhancing Bermuda's world-class tourism offerings.”
Tracy Berkeley, the chief executive of the BTA, said: “We are thrilled to host this year’s tourism summit for industry leaders and stakeholders to exchange insights, unveil new strategies and strengthen synergies across Bermuda's tourism landscape.
“By engaging and collaborating with experts in travel and tourism, we can collectively elevate our island's position as a premier global destination.
“We are eager to connect with stakeholders across the industry as we harness our collective strengths for success.”
The BTA added that a “jam-packed summit agenda” included updates on the authority’s sales, marketing and partnership initiatives.
It said: “Attendees will gain access to the latest innovations and tools tailored to empower tourism entrepreneurs, employees and executives alike.
“The summit will also allow attendees to engage with the BTA's leadership team.”
Highlights of panel talks and breakout activities are expected to include Catalysts of Success, featuring Freddie Evans, the president of the Bermuda National Athletics Association, Candy-Lee Foggo, the town manager and secretary at the Corporation of St George, and Kina Cann, of Woodys, along with BTA executives.
Bermuda’s Collaborative Journey: Beauty, Art and Innovation will involve Olamide Olowe, the founder and chief executive of Topicals cosmetics, as well as photographer and videographer Dion the Creative and tourism professionals.
The BTA said: “Overall, the summit schedule features engaging discussions centred on the island's airlift challenges and prospects, crafting memorable visitor experiences.
“With an emphasis on collaboration and strategic planning, the 2023 Bermuda Tourism Summit promises inspiring insights and new avenues to enhance Bermuda's world-renowned tourism ecosystem.”
A $40 fee for the event — with a registration deadline of 5pm on November 21 — will cover access to all sessions, refreshments, a buffet lunch and a networking cocktail reception.
