Bermuda among top 20 Caribbean tourism spots
Readers of a popular travel website have ranked Bermuda 19th among Caribbean destinations.
The Travel + Leisure Readers’ 25 Favourite Islands in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas of 2024, published this week, were based on 700,000 reader votes.
While Bermuda only just made it into the top 20 of the list with an average reader score of 84.05 out of 100, the result was better than in 2023, when the island failed to make the Top 25.
T+L wrote: “Three familiar spots re-entered the fray this year after dropping off the list — Cuba, Bermuda and St Croix — perhaps indicating that T+L readers have found a new appetite for delving deep into history, be it the colonial-era legacies and architecture that have so shaped Bermuda and St Croix or the mid-century events of the Cuban Revolution which still loom large on the island today.”
Dominica took the top honours in this year’s survey with an average reader score of 92.47, followed by Cuba, Anguilla, St Lucia and St John in the US Virgin Islands.
In the hotel category, The Loren at Pink Beach was the only local hotel able to secure a position in the top 25, landing in seventh place with an average reader score of 95.15.
That list was topped by Secret Bay in Dominica, with Tensing Pen in Jamaica and Baoase Luxury Resort in Curaçao rounding out the top three.
