Tourism authority hosts online training this week
The Bermuda Tourism Authority will this week host a series of training sessions aimed at helping tourism-related businesses enhance their online presence.
The sessions, scheduled to take place tomorrow and Thursday, will be offered through a collaboration with Miles Partnership, an international digital marketing firm, with the support of the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation and the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce.
Alana Wolffe, a content manager at the BTA, said: “We’re excited to offer these hands-on training sessions, which will empower Bermuda’s business leaders to elevate their visibility to a global audience.
“By optimising their presence on platforms like TripAdvisor and Google, businesses cannot only attract more travellers but also influence their decisions before they even set foot on the island.
“These workshops are an invaluable opportunity for our tourism partners to stay ahead in an ever-evolving digital world.”
Adrienna Forbes of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce added: “Empowering Bermuda’s business community is a collaborative effort, and we’re proud to have the BTA and BEDC by our side.
“We’re especially grateful to the BTA for including the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce in Global Entrepreneurship Week initiative, uniting us with BEDC to foster Bermuda’s entrepreneurial spirit.”
The sessions will focus on TripAdvisor optimisation, with some sessions also including a Google ranking “refresher”.
The BTA said that TripAdvisor presented a tremendous opportunity to promote Bermuda-based businesses because the website received 490 million visitors a month.
The sessions will take place at the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce with a morning session between 9am and 11.30am and an afternoon session from 2pm to 4.30pm.
On Thursday, a single session will be held from 10am to 1pm at the BEDC St George’s Hub on Water Street.
The BTA added: “These workshops will guide participants through the best practices for managing and optimising their Tripadvisor profiles to enhance visibility and attract more visitors.
“Additionally, the afternoon session on November 20 in Hamilton will feature a Google ranking refresher, helping businesses refine their online presence across multiple platforms.”
Spaces for the workshops are limited, and businesses were encouraged to register as soon as possible for remaining spots. For those unable to attend in person, virtual options are available year-round.
