BTA website sports interactive location map
Vacation planners can now explore Bermuda’s most well-known attractions through an online virtual reality tour.
The Bermuda Tourism Authority became the first North Atlantic destination manager to partner with Skynav, an interactive VR platform.
The partnership will allow those who visit the BTA’s flagship website to conduct virtual walk-throughs and witness 360-degree panoramic views of the island.
A spokeswoman for the BTA said: “By integrating Skynav into our website, we aim for users to have an enriched interactive environment to enhance their decision-making when booking Bermuda, for sales engagement, and highlighting key signature experiences.
“Our decision to choose Skynav underscores our commitment to leveraging innovative technology to enhance Bermuda’s digital presence and drive consumer engagement.”
The app allows visitors to explore the Port Royal Golf Course, Dockyard and Horseshoe Bay Beach.
Its map features location markers that name prominent tourist attractions and describe what visitors can do while there.
These markers offer aerial and ground-level views and lists them in a sidebar menu.
Other attractions, as well as businesses and event planners who have subscribed to the BTA’s stakeholder platform, will soon be added to the website.
Ty Downing, cofounder of Skynav, said that Bermuda’s “charm, stunning visuals and unparalleled attractions” made it a powerful competitor against the Caribbean.
Mr Downing added: “Potential Bermuda travellers can fully immerse themselves in the beauty and vibrancy of the island before ever setting foot on its shores.
“This custom Skynav experience will make travel planning easier than ever, offering an invaluable resource for travel agents and event planners looking to create unforgettable experiences in Bermuda.”
