Jessica Lewis secured her place in the T53 100 metres at the International Paralympic Committee Athletics World Championships in Doha, Qatar today.
The wheelchair sprinter posted the fastest qualifying time of 17.76secs en route to winning her semi-final heat at the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Lewis, who won the gold medal at last summer’s Parapan Am Games in Toronto, narrowly missed out on a place in the podium at the ongoing championships 24 hours earlier after finishing fourth in the T53 200 metres.
The Bermudian athlete will resume her quest for a medal in Qatar when she competes in tomorrow’s T53 100 metres final against the best wheelchair sprinters in the world.
