Lewis finishes eighth in 400 final
Jessica Lewis finished eighth in the T53 400 metres final at the World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, yesterday.
Lewis, who came fourth in the 100 final on Friday, posted a time of 1min 3.83sec in the 400 final, which was won by Catherine Debrunner, of Switzerland, in 56.74.
Zhou Hongzhuan, of China, placed second in 57.65 and Hamide Dogangun, of Turkey, finished third in 58.02. Lewis came fourth in her 400 heat in 1:00.82.
The 26-year-old will compete in her final event in Dubai on Tuesday in the 800. The heats take place at 3am and the final at 11am Bermuda time.
Lewis placed sixth in the 100 at the previous world championships in London in 2017, crossing the finish line in 17.40sec — her same time at the championships in 2015 in Doha, Qatar, where she claimed bronze.
